“Until quite recently, Javascript was not taken seriously as a language. It was the distant cousin of the animated gif and blink tag, usually kept turned off and seen as a security risk. Recently, taking a cue from Ruby on Rails, Django and other web application frameworks, small web application frameworks have begun to appear. These frameworks, built on top of jQuery or other libraries allow the creation of single page applications and address some of the problems associated with Javascript development, such as unique urls and code organization and structure.
